5400 riders comprising the pros, and riders of all ages took to the streets of Singapore in the inaugural cycling event, the OCBC Cycle 2009 Singapore on 22 Feb 2009. The start and finish was at the F1 Pit Building for all the categories – The Super Challenge (50km) {winner in men’s category finished with a time of 1hr 12mins 4secs; women’s category finish with a time of 1hr 15mins 20secs}; The Challenge (40km).; Community Ride (20km); The Kids Ride (5km). The professional riders took part in The Masters’ Criterium and The Men’s Open Criterium.
